River Flows in You

Soulless bird

I’m speechless, breathless

The rain falls down my face

Colder, like the weather’s smile

Or are they tears? The breathless sounds

That make my world apart.

I’m unfinished, broken

As the darker sky, falling over

My world apart. Take me,

Steal my body, wake my soul

And make me smile.

I’m soulless, fearless

A phantom guiding the lost in me

Through ways I’ve never seen,

The searcher leads the way;

The killer leads the haunt;

The pray leads the run;

I lead the loose.

I’m played, criticized

By the one that led me on

By the one that killed my body

And cursed my soul

To an everlasting sleep

With no beauty.

So I beg, shinning knight

Steal me, steal my body

And wake my soul

With a kiss that means.

So I beg, curious dragon

Lead me on, to the unfinished way

And through the skies I’ll cry

For what I’ve lost.

And it’ll dry, leaving a rainbow.

They are just memories.
